Mr. Young has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of legal matters, including family law matters which he has handled since he began practicing law in 1997. Mr. Young is licensed to appear in both Federal and State Court, and represents clients in many jurisdictions, including San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino and Humboldt Counties.  Mr. Young has also handled a number of civil appeals, including obtaining favorable appellate opinions in both family law and civil law.

In our family law practice, Mr. Young focuses on division of complex community property assets and complex spousal support issues.  We also handle domestic violence matters, child custody issues, and child support cases.

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Young is a Professor of Law at John F. Kennedy University School of Law.  He has lectured as an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University School of Law.  He is also an Assistant Instructor at Sonoma State University in the Paralegal Program.  Mr. Young has authored a legal text for Thomson West, the nation’s largest publisher of legal textbooks and periodicals.

Mr. Young is a member of the American Bar Association’s Council of Appellate Lawyers, the San Francisco Trial Lawyers’ Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Sonoma County Bar Association, the National Lawyers’ Guild, and the Society of American Law Teachers.
