Divorce Gets Sneaky

These days couples have more to worry about then whether their computer will suddenly crash due to an unknown virus or get hacked into by a teenager.

Couples going through troubled times are now turning to their shared technology to catch their significant others red handed.

Technology Serves as Evidence

Whether couples are just encountering a bump in the road or they’re enduring a full on divorce battle, their computers, phones and the other forms of technology lying around the house are serving as proof of any wrongdoing.

According to a recent article published in the New York Times, “estranged couples are increasingly turning to technology to gather evidence about what one side of the couple is doing when the other isn’t around.”

Tactics Used to Catch a Lover

The tactics used by couples to catch one another range from simply stealing a blackberry and ruthlessly searching the contacts, videos, and texts that could send a marriage spiraling downward, to purchasing software to get the much desired computer information.

Keylogger software and hardware has also been used to track the goings-on of one another’s computer.

The goal of all of this? To catch the other spouse doing something that can be used against them when it comes to the divorce proceedings.

While many might view these methods as an invasion of privacy and downright elementary, according to reports, many in the U.S. view these sneaky tactics as brilliant, and a given right that comes along with the union of marriage.

However, as the article warns readers, those going through a rough patch in their marriage may want to think twice before viewing…some things may be better off unknown.
