Since this news was released to the public, local organizations throughout the county are reportedly taking action.
Organizations Promote Stability
Local organizations in the Wiregrass area are making an effort to promote more stable households.
These groups are trying to spread the word that stable households are more beneficial for children and a healthier environment in general.
When a couple goes through a divorce it can be both emotionally and financially straining on the family as a whole.
Helping to Reverse the Statistics
In an attempt to reverse the high rates of divorce in Houston County and in other places throughout the country, national and local organizations are taking action to better educate those who are married.
“To reduce rates, we’re doing marriage education for people getting married and those who are married, teaching them how to communicate and budget,” says Mary Palo, who works with the HIVE Creative Group.
